Eatery founder interviewed in Food and Drink magazine
David Katz, president of My Friend's Place, the popular Atlanta-based chain of sandwich shops, was featured in a story that appeared in a recent issue of Food and Drink magazine, a national publication for the restaurant industry.
Since Katz opened his first eatery in 1980, he's built the franchise to 23 locations in the Atlanta area --- including two that opened in January, in Marietta and in Gainesville.
"We selected My Friend's Place as our name simply because it conveys the philosophy behind our restaurants,"
Katz said in the November/December issue.
"We envisioned a warm, friendly atmosphere in which customers would feel at home."
The new Marietta franchise, located on Newmarket Parkway, is owned by Deepah and Vijay Patel.
"They are very warm and friendly and just the kind of people we believe represent the customer service focus of our company," Katz said.
