David G. Katz - President, National Franchise Sales and Chairman of the Board of Directors
David has been President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Franchisor since its inception. Mr. Katz and his wife, Rosalind Katz, opened the first My Friend's Place Restaurant in December, 1980. Mr. Katz's prior business experience includes having been an Auditor for Haskins & Sells, an international accounting firm (now Deloitte & Touche), an Accounting Supervisor and Corporate Treasurer for a securities brokerage company, and has been President and Chief Financial Officer of a securities brokerage firm. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, was a member of the Honor Roll, elected to Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, member of the Dean's List, and awarded a Briggs Accounting Scholarship. Mr. Katz is a Veteran of the Vietnam conflict where he was a Supply Officer, Commanding a Supply Depot in the United States Army.


Rosalind C. Katz - Vice President, Secretary, and Member of the Board of Directors
Rosalind has been Vice President, Secretary, and Member of the Board of Directors of the Franchisor since its inception. Over the years, Rosalind has greatly assisted in the development and maintenance of all Company Manuals, created the initial marketing and advertising programs, and is responsible for training new Franchise Owners in the areas of cashiering, marketing, personnel hiring and store safety precautions. She also has the responsibility of maintaining Franchise Owner/Franchisor relationships through the planning and implementing of quarterly Franchise Owner meetings. She has been a registered nurse since 1965 and has served with distinction in various nursing capacities including Grady Memorial Hospital, the Jewish Home for the Aged of Rhode Island, Miriam Hospital (Providence, Rhode Island) and Dialysis Center Incorporated. She graduated with a Nursing Diploma from the Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing where she was also Senior Class President. Roz has been involved in several civic organizations in the Atlanta area for many years and in 1999, founded the One Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization. The Katzes have 2 grown daughters and 3 grandchildren.


Sergio Valentin Sr – Chief Operating Officer
During his 24 year business career, Sergio Valentin, Sr. has compiled a record of successes that include Multi-unit operations, supply chain management, process management, budget planning, brand & menu development, marketing, human resource, franchising and consulting. His areas of expertise cover change management and problem solving, personnel development, team building and team leadership; P&L process management, restructuring, growth expansion, build outs, startup and turnaround operation.

Sergio’s career has included his tenors as Sr. Director of Operations at Le Petit Bistro, Director of Operations for Latin Grille and Regional Director at Mister Minit America. During this period he also served as Operations Services Director, Training Director and Operations Manager among others. Sergio has served as Franchise Business Consultant for RGB and its affiliates; Hartsfield Hospitality, Bistro PA Ventures, Delaware North Companies and Bear Rock Café and was a key operator in opening Delaware North Companies first Michigan Airport location and exceeding budget sales by 10% in 2008. In 2003-2005 he served with board members of Alvarez & Marsalis in a restructuring and reorganizing of LPB Ventures.

Sergio Valentin, Sr. is a graduate with honors from the Connecticut Morse School of Business with his degree in Business Administration. He also has an Associates Degree and Certification in Ministerial Theology with A/G. Sergio has served as Director of the Youth Music Program at IMAD A/G and Music Minister as well. He has also held Director & Organizer roles at various community outreach programs that include, Feed the Hungry, Christmas in July (an event partnered with TBN - Trinity Broadcast Network) and Lifting up Haiti.
